
When can I visit Swansea Minster?
Swansea Minster is ordinarily open to visitors from 9:30am to 4pm from Monday to Friday, and from 10.00am to 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays 10.30am to 5pm, unless otherwise stated. Please check our calendar for closures before making a special trip. Please note we are closed for some Bank Holidays!
Are there toilets available?
Toilets are available at Nave level, under the organ. Accessible toilets are also available.
Do you have a guided tour?
Yes! We have a fully digital video guided tour with different locations. It can be accessed via the apple app store or Google Play store for Android. Just search Swansea Minster or scan one of our QR codes on site.
Will the Tower be open?
The Tower is only accessible for special events. However there is an explanation of the tour on our guided tour.
Do you have wifi?
Yes! Free quest wifi in our coffee shop area and throughout the Minster for people to use with a coffee.
Can students come and study here?
Yes! We have plenty of space for people who wish to sit with a laptop in the coffee shop and use the wifi to work or study. Please note: There are services throughout the week, please check our “What’s on this week” page for details.
Will there be a chaplain/Clergy available?
We have Clergy on duty at most points throughout the week. Due to services and meetings, unfortunately there may not always be one available. However, our Welcome Team can give you contact details of someone you can arrange to speak to should you require this. For more information about how to get guidance and support, please complete our contact us form on the homepage. Or fill in one of the welcome contact/forms at the Minster.
Is there a Gift Shop?
Our Swansea Minster gift shop is open during normal opening hours and sells a range of specially selected items – many of which are exclusive to the Minster and can't be purchased anywhere else!
Will I be able to light a candle?
You are very welcome to light a candle – there are candle stands located at the west door as you enter the Church. Please note we sell all candles to be used on premises. We also have a dedicated prayer station where you can write your prayer down for our clergy team to pray during the intercessions of the week.
Can I take photos?
Yes! We welcome visitors taking photos for personal use, but we ask that you are aware of the impact upon others in the building when doing so. You must seek permission for any commercial photography or filming in advance. Filming during services is NOT permitted.
Can I bring my children?
Yes! Children are very welcome to attend and explore the building as loudly or quietly as they’d like to. We do ask that all visitors are mindful of those who may be using the space for quiet prayer or reflection. We hold lots of family activities throughout the year too. We have a dedicated Childrens play area which requires parent/carer supervision at all times.
Can I visit with a group?
Yes! Please contact us to arrange! We offer tailored tours based on the history or religious items at the Minster. info@swanseaminster.org.uk
Can I make a donation?
Yes! Swansea Minster is a self-funded organisation that relies on donations to enable us to stay open to the public over 350 days a year for free! You can donate either with a card via one of our contactless donation points, or with cash in one of the donation boxes located around the building (the boxes are emptied regularly and locked away securely when the building is not in use). Ways of donating online – either on a one-off basis or regularly – can be found on the donations page.
Can I take part in a service?
All are welcome to join us for worship at any of our services, and we'd love to see you! Details of our services can be found here. If you can't join us in person, some of our services are streamed online via our live-stream page on Youtube.
Can I bring my dog with me?
We’re happy to say that our warm welcome extends to well-behaved dogs (and cats!) on leads. In order to ensure that Swansea Minster remains a safe and enjoyable place for everyone, we ask that you are mindful of other visitors – particularly those who may be using the space for quiet prayer or reflection – and ensure that your pet is well-behaved and not disturbing others. Owners will need to clean up after their pet in the case of any unfortunate accidents. In order to ensure maximum enjoyment for all, pets are not currently permitted on guided tours or to attend events*. Guide dogs, hearing dogs, and assistance dogs are permitted to attend services. *unless otherwise stated
Do you have a restaurant/café?
Yes! We have a busy café which does light meals and great coffee all week! 10am-4pm Mon-Fri and 10am-3pm Saturdays. (The coffee shop is closed Sundays).
Do you hold Weddings / Baptism/ Other life events?
Yes! We have a busy schedule of baptisms and Weddings at the Minster and you are most welcome to arrange yours here too! Please do ask a welcomer/staff member/Clergy or get in touch via: info@swanseaminster.org.uk
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
